At Adaptronic we have found an off-the-shelf cellular router which allows you to get data out of your race car and onto your laptop for race series which allow this. Best of all:
- You don’t need line of sight between the pit garage and the whole track
- No radio licence is required
- No interference with normal driver radio, race control and other radio channels
Of course, read the regulations of the event to ensure that it’s allowed before you run it. Currently it is one-way only (allowing you to get some live data out of the ECU) but we are working on getting 2-way data working as well.
