Ric Shaw has decades experience in race driving, as well as preparing his own cars for various events such as Bathurst production sports, Targa Tasmania, and the ADAC 24 hour at the Nurburgring (check spelling please). Well known for his work in building circuit turbo rotaries as well as his ability to set up the cars well, we are very grateful to have him on board to drive for Adaptronic at WTAC.
Ric has been installing and tuning Adaptronic ECUs for several years, and the RX8 plug-in ECU was a joint venture between Adaptronic and Ric Shaw Racing. He has also been providing lots of car setup advice in terms of thermal management, seating ergonomics, in-cabin instrumentation advice and all manner of other areas that you only learn through decades of experience. In particular it’s very gratifying to hear in response to the question “How would you like the boost to come on to make it easy to drive out of corners?”, “Just let it come on, I can drive around it!”
Check out some of his awesome driving below (Ric is the one in the white RX7)
